Glad to be Back!

by IMF OnSite Recording on 07-14-2013 at 10:31 PM
I just want to say it's been a while since I've been on here, but it's really great to be back. Sick stuff going on in RR land I can see.. I come back and there's new thread organization, new people I haven't seen before, and a freaking Rhino Kick Drum thing going on, this is great! I just have to add that it's so important for everyone to keep there head in this community because I've solved a couple problems just being on here this evening and wandering around for an hour or so. That Big Studio Sound: Part II

by IMF OnSite Recording on 12-19-2012 at 08:56 PM
From what I've learned over the past year, I know that placement and balance along with proper filtering is what really makes up the majority of a good sounding mix. Effects are there for enhancement purposes and are indeed very important.. but not my biggest hurdle.

Here is pretty much everyone's biggest hurdle whether they realize it or not: EQ

We all struggle in one way or another, and we also get caught up in things that, when it's over and done with, we've regretted. We also have our own personalities that can trigger some of these things that can affect our performance when mixing in either a good way or a bad way. As a matter of fact, it's our own personal level of incompetence that makes us who we are as current or future musicians\engineers\producers.

Recognize Your Natural Tendencies
For me, I tend to over

"That's how they get ya"

by IMF OnSite Recording on 01-19-2012 at 11:00 PM
This isn't just an idiotic rant about my loathing of large food product companies.... maybe you'll get something out of this but probably not. I am ready to fall asleep but wanted to make this point in the odd way that I did. I will be thrilled if even one of you understands what I am saying.

My wife grabs cranberry juice at the store sometimes..in the juice aisle next to all the OTHER 100% JUICE PRODUCTS.

Okay keep listening.
