Reaper Recording problem
Hi All,
Hopefully someone can help me with this. Been working with Reaper for a couple of weeks and plowing through the manual. Recorded a couple of tracks of me playing along on my sax to some backing tracks...no problem..sounds pretty rubbish, but that's just my playing. I dont know what I've done to the set-up, but now when I record, I'm getting the playalong track recording on the sax track at the same time instead of just the sax. It's defo something software related, as the speakers are muted while i'm playing. What have I done / not done???
Many thanks in advance

Re: Reaper Recording problem
Your system might be set-up to record anything playing on the system ? Like internet media.
Check Control Panel/Sounds to see if there are any funny sound devices like that enabled.pss790&370, K1,K1r, d-5, qy10, x-fi notebook, gina20, turser p90 sg, Ibanez steel string, Bongos, Washboard, Roberts 770 w/dual EF86, cedar ridge acoustic, EKO Ranger 12-string, DeArmond M65, Electromatic JJ bass, DeArmond M75, Fulltone FD2, Tannoy Sixes, DPS,DR1,DR-X m106, dbx128, korg SQ1, akai s2000, tascam PS5, ultraNOVA, dod 866ii

Re: Reaper Recording problem
Hi, and thanks for your reply, but that doesn't seem to be the problem. There are no funny sound devices enabled at all. It's a weird one. The track i'm recording onto receives the playalong track as well, although it's at a much reduced level, I thought it might be some sort of routing issue, but i'm not using anything like that. I'll keep at it till I find out what's up. Maybe the sound card has a fault????...dunno.
Many thanks again for your help

Re: Reaper Recording problem
When you open a new track to record try right clicking on the little gray button in the recording pane and look at what is checked. There are several choices you can make. The little gray button arms and disarms the track for recording. You can also right click on the little speaker icon to get several choices for monitoring. Your problem may lay in which choice you made.

Re: Reaper Recording problem
There's the arm button that is red and when you record it will record on the armed tracks. So un arming will fix that if it's the problem.
