Gentlemen, have you considered the possibility that perhaps Brandon and some of his close friends have concocted this elaborate scheme of "Killer Home Recording" for the sole purpose of torturing the ever lovin' shit out of us?

Ok, he's worked on this for x amount of years and all of a sudden it needs to be revised before a re-release? Must not be that "Killer". How many people were able to download this to begin with? I never received any emails saying this would be available and for what price. Was this only for a select few buddies? Wink, wink, nudge, nudge. I smell bullsh_t!!! Sounds like a d_cktease just to generate more traffic to this forum. Just release it to the public for Christ's sake!!

Yo gordyjamzy. What kind of crap is that? If you were serious with that load of negativity, you are in need of some serious therapy for making such vile judgments about something you've never seen. I am the proud owner of the first edition of KHR, and, while it may have a few typos here and there (which is probably the reason why Brandon is working up a new improved verion), it is truly an amazing labor of love that represents countless hours of his life to put together. I've been recording at home for about 6 years, and I've tapped many a website and tutorial along the way, and this masterpiece from Brandon is by far the most comprehensive and insightful teaching material that that I've ever encountered. It took a little time to download, because this thing is huge!! The sheer volume of information is astounding. And after owning this for a couple of months, I continue to marvel at the expertise and craftmanship that went into this production, not to mention that I am thorougly enjoying his wonderfully twisted sense of humor. I've absolutely never seen a body of work this awesome, with so much obvious effort to put it together, and so much good stuff that is spoon-fed in a truly entertaining manner. Everything else I've ever read to try to educate myself on the ins and outs of home recording seems like used toilet tissue (relatively speaking). I won't win any friends with the next comment, but anyone who can get their hands on this material for less than several hundred bucks is getting a deal of a lifetime. And, no, I'm not getting a piece of the action, Mr Pessimist. It's your loss if you snub your nose at this. Brandon has done a truly generous thing by offering this up for the price I paid. I think he should get some kind of humanitarian award for that. In case you and other's haven't noticed, he's a busy guy, so maybe we should all be a little more patient while he's trying to make a great thing better.

I second that. It's a great work. I'm a novice at this and have learned tons from it. I'm almost done with my first read-through. I edit technical material as part of my job description and have noticed the typos, which are really no big deal

I bought KHR, and while I am a Recording Review member, I'm not one of Brandon's friends. Actually, just under 1,000 people bought and downloaded KHR in its initial limited release. As described above, KHR is good, but it needs editing for grammar, etc., before it is more widely released.

To set the record straight, I am not one of Brandon "friends", as you should be able to tell from the few times I've posted. However, I would be honored to be his friend, not because I'm seeking perks, but because I think he's an awesome dude. A fan would be more accurate. I am just someone who is not too cool to acknowledge intelligence and generosity when I see it. Anyone who spends more than a few minutes on Brandon's site and does not perceive that he is a very thoughful, generous, prolific and funny person is just plain oblivious. [Not to mention, reasonably humble, and I know he'll be cringing at me singing his praises.]
I am also a technical writer, and I edit scientific documents for a living. So my editing eyes are catching pretty much all of the typos and grammatical errors. But this element is absolutely trivial, as you say. I figure that we are learning about how to make killer home recordings, not seeking an English lesson. I had offerered my time to help Brandon edit the material, if he was so inclined, but I think he decided to spare me the trouble and do it himself. Considering that it takes quite a few days just to read the tutorial modules, I took this as one more example of the man's respect for other people.
