cannot connect Zoom hd 16 to computer

I have a Zoom hd 16 and I have the correct USb cable and have followed the instruction in the manual exactly on how to connect to the computer, but on my computer under Start my computer, it is not recognising it. Please help as its driving me bonkers and I'm excited to play with my new toy.

I Have A Problem Trying To Record In The Zoom Hd16 Using The Cubase Le 4 On My Computer By A Usb Conection, I Tried Everything And It Wont Record.

It Does Transfer Whatever I Record In The Zoom Hd 16 To My Computer But It Won't Record Ones I Pluge The Usb Using The Cubase Le4.

Why Is That???

How did you connect it finally? \i am still having problems and my pc wont find the zoom completely. cubase will see and use the faders but no sound ! someone know how to fix this ?

Well guy's I got some good news and some bad, the zoom is not an interface so you cant record to cubase. all you can do is use the zoom to record your tracks in the unit when you finish hold the shift pad and press pad 3 for mass storage Page 161 in the book, then on your PC ,go to all programs, then to {my computer} and you'll see HD_USR ( J : ) click that to open your file folder my tracks were in TAKE then you can import them to cubase I'm sending my ZOOM back tomorrow Surface control wont work the way the book say's that's why you cant upload or hear your tracks
