Default Best Signal Zoom HD16CD or thru Mackie to Zoom

Im going to be laying down some Vocal tracks tonite for the rest of my Quartet. I discovered that I can go from my Mackie CFX-12 board into the Zoom HD16CD. My question is which will give me the best quality signal, straight in to to the Zoom or thru the Mackie to the Zoom. I already have the TRS to XLR cables to go from the Mackie to the Zoom and I know how to set up the subs to get it to the Zoom. I plan to record flat either way and then EQ after in Zoomor in Cubase. I may add the reverb from the Mackie because I like it. Any who would appreciate some insight from somebody in the know Thanks

On a good day the Mackie probably won't hurt and if it's necessary for other reasons go ahead and use it. However, it's generally accepted that you want to run your signal through as little stuff as possible.

Of course, I guess you see the silliness in asking an audio question that you could test in 3 minutes on a forum. Why not do a quick little shootout and post it in User Submited Clips Forum ?

Thanks for the reply Brandon. And i understand about the testing part and I would gladly post a clip if I had Hi speed internet service here. It takes me 20 mins to download a few emails.Anywho duly noted I'll stick with the zoom. I did do the recording friday night and got 4 songs tracked and I'm now going through the mixing and mastering process, which is amazing, wow those mastering algorithms sure wake up a mix.I also learned to upload my files to the computer and work with them on Cubase LE 4.
