Default What program should I get?

OK, so I just bought a A-MU 0404 interface and studio prjects b1 condensor mic.
I have never done any recording, and I need to know of a very straightforward, high quality program to get/use.
At this point I am only recording vocals and my acoustic guitar, so I just need something that will be able to put the maybe 3-5 tracks ill have together (something good)
I appreciate any help!
Thanks

hey there!

What exactly are you looking for? A hard disk recorder, a DAW, a 4 track? There's a lot of options out there for you to try. Maybe if you can give me some specifics, I may have a 2 cents to fork out.

All I want to do is be able to record vocals and acoustic guitar. Maybe 2 or 3 tracks of guitar, and 1 or 2 vocal tracks. Thats all.
I have no idea what different programs or called or what I need to do that...
I have a e-mu 0404 interface and studio projects B1 condensor mic.
I just have no idea where to start...even after doing research...
thanks!

Sounds to me like you're looking for a DAW.

Audacity (freeware) would do what you want, but I find it limited.

Reaper (shareware but VERY cheap) is a full blown DAw which would do the job.

But there's dozens to chose from.

With a DAW, you can record on track, then play it back while recording another, and so on and son on.

Assuming you have a PC and not a Mac, I'd say buy the cheapest Cakewalk program
you can get (probably Music Creator 4) about $20.
Then in the future you can seemlessly import the projects you create into the Cakewalk Sonar when you decide to splash the cash.
I've found Cubase a nightmare to use.
