It means that someday in the future, when all the software is written for 64bit os and all the drivers are available that in theory you can run stuff faster. also could run more stuff at once with more memory.
Now history shows that pcs get bigger and faster but the aps just keep slowing down.
I have a 98se machine that runs faster than my newer faster bigger xppro machines. Why? Because the newer os keeps wasting more and more cycles on useless crap.
I do not waste any cycles on indexing nor antivirus stuff on the win98se box. The os is not running aeroglop or other cutesy stuff that adds ZERO value but wows beginners. Thatapproach lets the old machine run compute intensive aps faster cause the aps get more of the cycles and billyBob gets fewer of them.
There must be a conspiracy between billyg and intel. Intel boxes use win cause they keep forcing hardware upgrades. If there were a lean mean RT opsys available then you would not need to keep buying new hardware. The thing would run so fast without all the waste and bloat from windoZe your old box would be good for 20 years or more.
