Default vocal removing software

i...thing this is the right forum for my question:

is there a software or a plug-in that kill the singer voice and by that turn song into playback?

(i am sure that if there is something like that, it will never do it with the quality of the original, but still ,if you make covers, it is very nice way to learn the song)

You are looking for a center cancelling device. Yes, there is hardware and software that does this, but they seldom work perfectly.

They almost never work properly but you can get the vocals somewhat reduced on a lot of songs. You can do this with free software, no need to buy one of these programs.

You basically separate the left and right channels and invert the phase on one channel. This essentially cancels out anything that is in the center of the stereo image. since most vocals are mixed dead center, it removes or reduces the vocal.

However, when reverb is used on the vocal, it seems to never be dead center. this is why it is almost never the case that you completely remove a vocal. Also, unless instruments were panned hard left or right, you are going to lose a piece of them as well.

Here is a good link to read about how to do it and what is really happening.
