Hi, i would just like to know what i need to allow me to record a drum kit and have each microphone recording to a different track. Lets say for instance, i have 6 microphones to record a drum kit, how would i record each of these microphones onto a separate track? thanks tom. |

you'll need a multi-input interface(i use a presonus firestudio for example). then you need multitrack recording software like Cubase (a limited version comes with the firestudio) and assign each individual input(or mic) to each individual track in your recording software. that's the *bare* basics you'll need. |

The cheapest way of doing it and keeping all 6 tracks seperate is with a Presonus Firepod, probably. You may be able to find something cheaper since you only need 6 tracks. My gut says that if you need 6 tracks, you'll probably want 8 anyway. Brandon |
