Default Tascam US-122 with XP MCE

I'm new to the forum and new to home recording. Actually I haven't recorded anything as of yet so I'm not even new yet. I guess that makes me a wannabee right?
I've purchased a computer that can handle a heavy load, I've purchased the Tascam US-122 and am in the process of uniting the two while I look for a keyboard for inputting the music. Meanwhile, the US-122 is giving me trouble with loading drivers. When I download the file and try to run it, I get an error. I've read that it wasn't made to work with XP Media Center Edition but then I hear that some of you are using it with that OS and getting along just fine. Did you never have errors, or what's the trick?
Thanks,
quinn

US122 or US122L?

Big difference. I used the US122 with MCE for a few years with no issues at all. But then again I used a lot of non-MCE compatible stuff with no issues at all. I'm on XP home now, but the point is, it worked fine.

I think the US122L which replaced it may have more of an issue with MCE.

It says US-122 but would it have the L on the top or somewhere else?
I wouldn't mind going back to XP if It will help get me recording sooner than later. I've had a couple other issues with peripherals on this new system that just might clear up as well, now that I think about it.
