Default Sound problem with yamaha audiogram 3 usb device

I've been using my bro's audiogram usb audio device for the past two weeks and it's started to play up on me. Even before i turn on my DAW(REAPER) i can hear the clean signal coming from guitar on the desktop. It's connected to the input of the audiogram. I've tried turning off the microphone volume on the desktop to no avail. The only reason why it's annoying is cause when i try running guitar rig i can hear the clean signal underneath the distortion. I've tried deleting and reinstalling the driver's and using ASIO4ALL too but nothing seems to work. Any ideas?

Double check the control panel/sounds/recording dialog. Un-check everything but the preferred recording device.

That's very strange
I looked through the manual and there's no mention of direct monitoring.

we've sold quite a few of these at my store in the past couple months. Haven't had any issues with them yet.

Don't use the ASIO4ALL driver, use the Yamaha one.

What it probably is, is in your default windows sound settings have the "Line in" or "microphone in" unmuted.

You didn't say which operating system so here it is for Windows XP

Go to Start>Control Panel
Sounds and Audio Devices
Audio>Default device - Choose Audiogram 3
click on "Volume..."
Mute everything except "Wave"

I'm using vista but what you've said applies pretty much the same. But no joy. Still same problem. I try swithching to the yamaha driver's but same thing. I gave up on the bloody thing anyway cause it's not mine. Gave it back to the bro! I think i'll stick with my nice dependable line 6 ux2 that i finally got back! Thanks everyone anyway!

Hello everyone!

Here is a link to a video tutorial for VISTA USERS on how to activate the stereo mixer, as well as adjust the volume of the microphones and stereo mixer. Answers to the dreaded No audio output device installed |

This should help with problems Vista users are having with synchronization of music and voice, or other sound problems.
