Default Sony Acid Pro 6.0/Digitech Gnx4 w/Pro Tracks. Anyone use this? Advice for a beginner?

Hello there,
I've played guitar since 1994, drums since 1986. I've recently aquired Acid Pro and a gnx4 which came with Pro Tracks software.
I have ALOT of song ideas that I(and anyone who've heard them) feel are very catchy.
My question is this: Does anyone on here use this type of setup? If so, what are your thoughts on it?
I run the software on a Dell E1505 Duo Core Laptop w/160G Hard drive. Should I make my drum tracks on Acid, or use the gnx4? Should I use the Pro Tracks, or Sony Acid? I'm a little confused on where to start.
ANY suggestions would be VERY apreciated. I think this site is great and my hat's off to EVERYONE who contributes to it.
Thank you...Robb

I am not really familiar with that setup, however: Use whatever you are most comfortable with. You need to use what you know.
