Default simple recording problem.

Greetings
i got Guitarrig and fasttrack pro. When i want to get a simple sample by using Windows Sound Recorder, i end up getting the clean tone no matter what i have on Guitarrig. I know it's a simple problem but i can't seem to solve it.
and off the subject i just can't install Cubase Sx it just stops at %97 percent, saying it's a dll. problem of some sort. Any suggestions?

You need an input to route to Guitar Rig when in standalone mode.

Can't help but think that you didn't pay for Cubase SX if you're only just getting around to installing it now. It was superceded in 2006!

How did you route them to the fasttrack? You need to feed it to the inputs on the fasttrack, and that would require sending the signal out of your computer. Better to get that DAW working, then you don't have to worry about it.

You probably realize that Guitar Rig is just a plugin. It's kind of like using reverb or delay only it's a guitar thingy. The signal has to be routed into Guitar Rig, processed, and then routed out of Guitar Rig. I never use Standalone, so I also second the idea of reinstalling Cubase.

well i looked into my problem and fixed it. It seems like i have to turn off Device Monitoring while recording. Now i can hear what i play and record it. Yes it's the only thing i managed to do so far.
anyway for the guitarrig; i can open it as a plug-in on Cubase and add some distorsion to what i recorded. But i cannot use guitarrig sound while recording, it's selection is faded.
Is it possible to hear the guitarrig sound while recording?or do i have to connect some pedal to the sound card to get a distorsion sound in cubase while recording?
