Hi folks. Im new here, my name is Mike and ive already introduced myself in the Introduction forum. I have a question that I imagine has an extremely simple solution. I'm relatively noobish when it comes to home audio. I understand forum etiquette, and have tried to find threads or faqs dealing with this, to no avail. If anyone wants to chip in, i thank you in advance. I'm using Cubase Sx and Reason with a Variax Guitar and Pod XT Live unit. My guitar, plugged into the Pod, is plugged into an M Audio Delta, using two leads from the POD ( L and R ) When i play the guitar, the signal is very weak. Reason files are playing at their proper volume in Cubase. I know this system is configured fine, because it belongs to someone else who uses it frequently, so I figure i have overlooked something probably quite basic. Thanks again. I'd recommend having a look at the pod documentation. I've never used the xt but I did have a regular old pod at one point. It had switch settings that had to be a certain way for recording and another way for going into an amp if I remember right. Also I seem to recall if you had two cables connected to the output then it behaved one way, and if you had only one, then it behaved another way. This is some time ago for me and it is for a different pod unit so I'm sure I'm not saying this 100% correctly, but I suspect your answer may lie in there (pod documentation) somewhere. Good luck. Charlie

It actually was a pretty simple fix. Turns out, on the backof the Pod XT near the Line out jacks, there is a tiny volume switch, independant of the other, 'standard' volume knobs. Ill have to check it out to see why the hell they got of them there Thanks anyway mate.

I just played around with my POD XT the other day and got the USB connection working into Cubase Studio 4. I had gone awhile using the 2 line outs but it just seemed to be noisy. With the USB, I've found it much clearer. 1. Download the POD XT USB drivers. 2. Connect the unit. 3. CHange your Windows audio settings to the POD XT drivers (through the control panel) 4. In Cubase, in the device manager, select the POD XT ASIO driver. I'm really happy with the sound I'm getting now and no longer have to use amp plugins (which were really straining my CPU usage)... |
