Post Real time pitch correction?

Does anyone out there know if there are any plugins or hardware pieces that perform real time pitch correction (ie when the vocalist is singing)?

I want to upgrade my studio a little and would like something that will perform this task. I will be using Sonar home studio XL for the tracking. I have been looking at Antares Auto tune.

Any help/advice is greatly appreciated.

Auto tune does real time pitch correction, but I personally hate the way it sounds in that mode if the singer actually has pitch issues. If the singer has pitch issues, I prefer to manually fix the pitchy stuff in graphical mode.

I'd much rather have Melodyne than Autotune, but I'm only assuming it also has real time capabilities.

I think you'd want Auto Tune for what you described. I'm not sure Melodyne does work in real-time...I don't have the plug-in version, so I have to load up an already recorded file. Auto-tune would be much easier to tweak on-the-fly for recording too. If you're going for that purposely Auto-Tune'd sound thats on a lot of rap/r&b on the radio now, I've seen people tracking with Auto Tune so they can purposely sing wrong and Auto Tune will quickly shift it to where they want

Thanks guys.
I will mainly be using this on stuff just for me (not to release to the general public). I will be getting a little extra cash in soon, and was looking for a good way to spend it!

I have seen a video on Roland's V-vocal that is included in Sonar 6 Producer, and I think the Auto Tune will do the same things plus the real time stuff. The main reason I wanted real time is that I have an 8 month old son, and the least amount of time I spend "fixing" my perfectly out of tune voice the better.

Yeah, if you want that horrendously stupid effect that everyone has been using since 1999 on your voice, Autotune will definitely do it better.

Thanks for all the advice. I downloaded the demos this weekend and gave a quick run through. they both do what I want very well.

You may not be looking for this anymore, but I have a hardware option you might wanna check out.

Tc-Helicon's Voiceworks Plus. It's a vocal processor that does pitch correction, multiple harmonies, voice manipulation and a bunch of other stuff.

I use it for live shows where the band needs to sound like we have 4 part harmonies going on, but it's just all me.
