Default quick cable question

i'm trying to finish up a new fairly low brow studio setup, but am unsure on a particular cable choice... i'm looking to connect a tapco blend 6 mixer to a lexicon lambda audio interface... i want the output of the mixer (L and R TRS)
to go to one of the line ins on the interface (single TRS)... what i'm unsure of is whether i should use a y cable (TRS to dual TRS) or an insert cable (TRS to dual TS) or something else all together.... thanks for the help...

I would recommend TWO TRS-TRS cables from the L output to one line input on the Lambda and another for the L output to a different line input. Then set up your recording software to record these two signals as a stereo signal.

Otherwise, if you have to use only one Lamba LINE IN, use a TRS to DUAL TRS cable...but then you will be summing the signal in the cable and lose your stereo separation

Why do you need the mixer?

honestly i don't... i had the mixer prior to the interface going directly into an old Echo Mia card... picked up the interface... and am really just looking to have it act as a hub for ease of use with my other gear... just leave stuff plugged in... and set some levels on the board... before even getting to the interface... my space tends to be limited... and i prefer not to have to juggle cables... plugging and unplugging things...

one more quick follow up... is there any advantage/disadvantage to using a stereo TRS cable as opposed to two separate TRS cables? thanks...

No. I guess sometimes they are labeled "stereo" TRS cable? TRS is tip, ring, sleeve. There are three conductors. I don't know what a stereo TRS is. If plugged into a stereo jack they transmit a stereo signal. If they are plugged into a balanced mono signal that's what they transmit.

i maybe used the wrong word... i'm referring to dual TRS cables... two TRS cables fused together... usually one is red... one is black...
