Hi,
Been having a few problems with recording on my laptop. I want to connect my 2 numark CDJs to my laptop via a basic stanton mixer, however when i have them all connected up correctly and start recording on Audacity, the sound which comes out my speakers is about second slower than the sound coming through my headphones, making it impossible to mix I recently bought a KAM usb audio interface thinking it would solve this but was the same. Has anyone had problems recording on a laptop before? the laptop which i'm using is COMPAQ Presaio V6000. Don't know if its something to with the laptops soundcard (if it has one) or audacity recording software i'm using Can anyone help me out? Thanks , Andy |

What soundcard is feeding your headphones?
Did you pull the latency down on your audio interface? Brandon

The problem is your speakers are using the stock soundcard which has very high latency. Your mixer however, is real time. The solution is to use your audio interface (with the latency turned down as low as you can go without clicks and pops....it should have a control panel) to send the audio where ever. If you are using the stock soundcard as the output, it will be behind for sure. Brandon

I returned the audio interface i had, but it was just usb and didn't have a program with it to adjust the settings.
Also even trying to connect the mixer straight to the laptop via the microphone and just using the laptop's built in speakers, there is still latency slowing the sound down. do you know were to adjust the latency settings on laptops? Andy |
