Default Problem mixing down with cubase

Hey there,

I got a problem mixing down my tracks with cubase.

I have several recorded tracks, then I go to file>export>mix down and then set the song name and the format and all, but when I click OK, it says that en error has ocurred when exporting files!!

I´m new with cubase, so I don´t know if I´m missing any steps.

Please help!

Hey.

Do you have your flag points set up properly? It will only mix down whatever you specify between those 2 points. (top of the window, it should be blue if its within the range.)

If thats good to go, how far into mixing down do you get the error message? Is it instant, or does it get 30% through or what?

I will open Cubase when I get home, and see if I can come up with any other ideas.

Cheers

Alex

This is the only mixing error I've ever gotten. I'm not sure why Cubase doesn't explain what caused the error.

In Cubase SX3, I have to set the first flag at the beginning of the song, the second flag at the end. It's a light blue color.

Awesome!

The error message in Cubase not only doesn't tell what the error was but makes you wonder if your hard drive or sound card is fried.

So, I know how it is to fix this one!

I'm glad you got it working.

I can´t understand why Cubase doesn´t tell you anything about this either in the manual in the troubleshooting section or in the very moment when you are trying to export files.

Anyway. Thanks a lot folks.

In all honesty, this is the one thing that hasn't been well thought out in Cubase.

Considering that most programs have between 100-1,000 things that have not been well thought out, I can live with it.

Hey! Glad I could help out. It does seem weird that Cubase does not tell you that. Its one of those things thats so simple, yet takes you to the very end of your sanity trying to figure it out.

Good luck! Any more questions, let me know.
