presonus firestudio playback issue

ok, so heres the deal-

I have a firestudio project that i have hooked up to a couple m-audio speakers. Before, I had a cable(1/4th-1/8th) running from one of the general outs on the back of the firestudio into the aux in on the M audio monitor, and that enabled me to hear what the whole thing sounded like through the monitors while playing. But ive recently relocated my studio, and now ive done the same thing except it only plays back when i record it and play it, not in real time while they are playing. I tried a couple different setups, inlcuding just using the main outs on the presonus to the main outs on my monitors, and just plugging the computer input(the green wire for most computer speaker ins) into the presonus, and still i cant get hear whats being played through my monitors. Any help, setup sugestions, etc?

If you are hearing any audio at all, it's safe to say your speakers are hooked up correctly and, mostly likely, your Firestudio is working correctly too.

This sounds like you have monitoring disabled via recording in your recording software. I'm still in Cubase SX3 and it have several different monitoring modes. If I were you, I'd fire up the manual for your recording software and look for the monitoring section. This should be where you find the answer.
