I sound like a smart ass. What else is new? As I dickheadishly implied, the Sound Blaster cards were not meant to be used for low latency audio recording. They are cheap soundcards with a few extra jacks and the best graphic design in the world on the boxes. I'd highly recommend you check out the Home Recording Soundcard Wizard to find an audio interface that was designed for recording. Brandon, I'm over the BS WITH this issue.Creative is not giving me the support I need to solve my problems, further more the folks I purchased my tower from say they Can fix my system. No I say I want to return the Sound blaster card and put in a card that works without glitches. I am aware of all the great sound cards that you told me to look at, but that don't get it for me ,all I'm asking of you now is to just narrow it down to 3 cards that you think I should buy that will work with my configuation,is that to much to ask of you,or can you not supply me with that info because you rep a certain manufacture of equiment? I have a great deal of $ invested in my gear and I truly need your help in this issue or someone out there who is not bias to one particular sound card. Also I have a tascam Fw 1884 mixing board with this whole mess if that can shed more light on this issue. Some one please help if Brandon can't. |

No, I'm not affiliated with any one company. If you would have made even the slightest attempt to use the soundcard wizard, you would find that there are over 150 sound cards in there from all kinds of different manufacturers. I take it personally when people ask for my help and then do not follow my advice. The soundcard wizard is an extremely powerful tool for anyone who takes the time to use it. In fact, as a person who doesn't have a solid grasp on the technology, you may consider actually getting a basic understanding of this stuff you are investing so much money into. The soundcard wizard can have you there in about 5-10 minutes. When I started, this took a few weeks of research. If you aren't willing to put a little bit of effort into this recording thing, I'm afraid you won't get very far. It's a struggle from the time you begin until the day you quit. You are in luck, however. I can recommend an audio interface that is perfect for you. It's perfect because you already have it. Your Tascam is an audio interface. There is no need to use your soundblaster card. The Tascam is more than equipped to do just about anything I can think of. Now I almost NEVER shun newbies, but there is a big difference between a beginner busting his ass to learn and a beginner who doesn't want to put the effort forth. I'm a very busy guy. I do not have time for people who aren't going to use the tools that I have busted my ass creating. There are plenty of other forums online where newbies are slammed no matter how hard they are trying. So from now on please let me know ahead of time if you aren't going to follow my advice. Brandon. Please except my apology. I meant in no way to offend you. Yes it has been a major struggle trying to get this thing off and running I can't begin to tell you how frustrating it has been with this glitch.Yes I went into this project unprepared and should of done more home work. This has always been a dream of mine have a home studio. As I reach my retirement from a job so far from the this venture I hope you understand. However my freind, thanks so much for answering my question .I will pull The SB card out and utilize the FW 1884. My deepest apoligy with major embarrassment. Frank |
