playback problems w/ lexicon

Help! When I set my primary playback device as "Lexicon lambda" ( my new audio interface) I get static in my headphones. When I set it back to what it was before (SB Live) it plays fine, through my regular computer speakers.

Last week it worked fine. (just got the Lexicon last week.)

I am using CoolEdit software.

Further comments: I tried it with Cubase and it was fine. So CoolEdit has the problem. For some reason my various devices are fighting it out. Lexicon vs. sbLive soundcard. Then Winamp gets in the picture and doesn't want to play back after I've used the Lexicon for recording.

Stupid devices! Why can't they all just get along??

Well, yes & no. Many mysteries remain, like whether it's possible to listen to a cubase project thru my regular speakers, like if I"m working & don't want to use headphones. I'm not sure if the Lexicon can play an output to regular computer speakers. (maybe the 'line out' jack on the back?? Gotta try that!!) and whether you can record from an internet radio station like shoutcast, via lexicon and cubase. If not, I won't be uninstalling CoolEdit anytime soon.

Bingo. You'll probably need an adapter that goes from 1/4" to 1/8".

That one would be interesting. There is probably some way to route that audio into Cubase, but I wouldn't know where to start. I've never needed to do anything like that before. I guess I'd start with the manual and try searching for "sources" or "inputs".
