Unhappy Output problems... help desperately needed :(

I hate to bother you all with my petty, petty beginner set up problems... but:

After days of setup I've finally worked out the kinks... except for the most important kink that has been plaguing me since day 1:

In nuendo (cubase) I am direct monitoring through my edirol FA-101 interface. It has a headphone jack on it that is supposed to output all of the sound being sent from the pc as well as the input sound.

The problem is that I can only get sound out of my right headphone speaker (bus output channel 2). Bus output channel 1 gets no sound whatsoever.

Basically, my heaphones aren't broken, my panning is set to center, and I'm only hearing half the sound that I should be hearing.

Does anybody have any idea what the problem could be?

Is your output bus a stereo channel? It sounds like maybe you have two mono output buses and only have the output going to one channel? You probably only need one output channel but it needs to be stereo. Check it out.

My buses are stereo channels, and I have a left and a right channel. I tried to see if getting rid of the channel that wasn't working helped at all, but it made no difference.
