Here are my CPU specs: AMD/Atholon 64 bit processor 3000+ 1 GB RAM 160 GB Hard drive MSI K8N Neo4-F Socket 939 NVIDIA nForce4 ATX AMD Motherboard http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16813130491 I just got my firepod and midi controller (CME UF5) and am using cubase sx3 and was wondering if I could get some suggestions on how to fix my problem. I have gotten everything working as far as recording and have installed the new drivers for both the firepod and the UF5. The problem is I can't get any sound through my headphones. I've tried plugging them into my old soundcard that is still in my tower and tried plugging them into the firepod headphone jack, both to no avail. If I plug my headphones in to my old soundcard and choose Microsoft GS Wavetable synth as my output I can hear the UF5 making sound by it's onboard sounds. I have also recorded audio tracks through a condesor mic and the signal is there but when I play it back I can't hear it. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. |

Ok, I didn't think it had it's own sound but when I played it and heard noise I didn't think about it being my soundcard. Do you have any suggestions on getting the sound out when using vst's or hearing audio tracks recorded with my mic?

I was messing with it some more today and figured out I could faintly hear some noise when I played some of the vst's. I then put my headphones into line one output and I can now hear it loud but only through my left headphone. The problem now is when I record midi it doesn't record it until two bars or so later. I can hear the midi on time but it doesn't record it like that. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated

Only through one side of your headphones because you're plugging them into a mono source. Line one is left, line two is right... what happens if you plug your headphones into the headphone socket? So, you have your UF5 connected to your computer through USB or through the firepod and MIDI? R. |

When I plug it in the headphones, the microphone level sounds good but when I play a vst I have to turn the volume all the way up then I can barely hear it. My UF5 is connected through usb on my tower. |

How loud is the VSTi set in your audio software's mixer? Some synths / samples are louder than others. Is the signal loud enough when you crank up the headphones or would you call it "unacceptable"? Brandon |

I think I have the volume thing figured out. Thanks for all the replies. I only have one problem now. When I record MIDI in cubase SX3 I can hear and all sounds well but the midi data comes is recorded about 3 or 4 measures ahead of where I play it. I just installed reason yesterday and the midi is working correctly there so I don't think it is a hardware setup problem. It has to be something in cubase but I have no idea. Any help would be appreciated.

Quite a few people have dealt with this (myself included), but I can't remember what the hell I did to make it work. If you figure this one out, be sure to tell me, because I know the issue will come up again. Brandon |
