Have you asked Samson support for help with this?
I've noticed these plug and play devices seldom are.
I purchased a Samson C01U USB Condensor Microphone as it was Plug n Play and sounded so easy to set up, not to mention the promising reviews. However, two months later and I'm still trying to figure out how to get the #!@!%$! working.
Initially, the microphone was not recognised by Windows at all. In the past, I've had to download a native Windows XP Universal MTP (Media Transfer Protocol) driver to get my MP3 player working, so maybe the driver which is used to recognise a USB microphone has been deleted/moved also. I have tried the Samson SoftPre driver, which worked to some extent but the sound levels are almost inaudible so I really want to try the native Windows driver, as I believe these will be much more stable and might just resolve my problem.
So, if someone can tell me which driver I require and where it can be found on a Win XP Pro installation CD, I'd be grateful.
Thanks,

I've read the manual, searched their website and sent several e-mails to Samson, for which I am still waiting for replies.

SOLVED: For future reference, I felt the time was right to reinstall Windows! This allowed the device to install in the Plug and Play manner it is supposed to. The mic was so quiet on the old setup because there was a hidden volume control. I was able to select this device recording volume in Control Panel > Sounds and Audio Devices > Audio (Tab) > Sound Recording > Default Device = Samson C01U > Volume > %
The problem I have now is that I have to change the volume every time the mic is reconnected! But that's for another thread

I'm glad you got your problems worked out! I've always been leary of these USB microphones, but maybe you'll have all of your bad luck out of the way.

Yeah me too
As far as the mic goes, I'm very pleased with the sound...although I don't really have a point of comparison as it's the first thing which is close to a recording mic I've ever owned. It does the job for me though!

So did the USB Drivers above work. Because I am having the SAME EXACT PROBLEM![]()
Are you getting no input or is it just too quiet?
