Default midi

Is there any way I can go about upgrading midi playback quality without buying new hardware?

If you're looking for better instrument sounds, you can get a softsynth instead of hardware... if you're looking for lower latency or better quality sound, then you'll need to think about hardware.

Midi playback quality is totally up to the sound of the synth or sampler it's triggering. Right?

ok Thanks much. Basically I wanted to improve whatever I could, instruments or sound quality, but even just instruments will be a help (I didn't think there would be much I could do with software).

I'm curious as to what problem with "quality" you are having. I've NEVER heard of audio quality being a problem with midi unless you mean they sound a little "fake".
