Unhappy Re: Mbox 2 Pro Install help!!!!!!!!!

hey.
i am very new to this forum thing, so i might be posting in the wrong place... sorry if i am.
i have an mbox that i've been using to record myself for a year or so, i'm an amateur but i pulled a livable sound, good enough for my record company to hear anyway.
now when i plug it in there's no lights, no power, no nothing
i thought it was the cable but today when i plugged it in and garageband was open, a pop-up window in that program said, "one new midi input available".
i've got a g4 powerbook.
thank you thank you thank you!

Default Re: MBox Problems

It's unfortunate that the Digidesign has made their system so proprietary and different to troubleshoot. (The fact that the software and hardware are required makes it tougher to deal with issues).

Having said that, if the unit doesn't even power up, you should probably test the power supply (assuming it's a wall wart). If you have a multi-meter, you can test to see if the power supply is delivering DC voltage. There are other ways to test the power supply, but unless you know what you are doing, you could do more harm than good.

I'd focus on getting the unit to actually turn on before fighting with the comptuer side of the things.

I wish I could be more help. I'm a Cubase guy.
