Default lots of interferance in my monitors for some reason

i never had this problem before, but since ive moved to this house im getting an obscene amount of interference from the soundcard to the monitors. ive ruled out it being a cable related problem, but i can literally hear the harddrive interfering for one with it, among other components. here is what im using (dont laugh lol)

sound blaster audigy 2 soundcard with front bay (it happens when plugged in the back or in the livebay) and the audio monitors im using are rokit 5. im using a minijack type plug that splits into rca left and right to hook up the monitors, as its the only means i have atm. (reaaaally poor)

is there anything i can do to get rid of this, or at the least lessen it?

sounds like a ground loop issue. are you using a laptop or desktop?

i figured out the problem. plugging the power cords that plug into my monitors into the same strip that my pc is plugged into is not a good idea lol. just plugged the monitors into a seperate power strip and it worked like a charm.
