Yo wad up. I make hip-hop music (songs, not beats) with Cubase LE, seeing that i am a bit new at the recording thing i get away with it by just knowing how i want a specific song to sound like and then record and re-record to get it. But my biggest problem is when people saying our songs are good but they can't max their component set or it would sound crappy. I found a great plugin pack called Pluggo,it gives me what i thought i would only get from a studio recording. Thing is its just the demo so every 30 secs. or so u hear a nasty buzz noise hence i don't get da full effect. Now i live in Jamaica and i don't even have a debit card much less a credit card, hell i don't even hav a job so i can make enough to apply 4 1, and thats the only way i can get the full version of Pluggo. Could someone plz. help me out. I have searched for months to download da full version and da closest i got is the demo version with Documentation. Plz reply soon.

The Pluggo web site seems to be void of any information. What plugin exactly is it that you use? Maybe there's a free version or equivalent out there. There are lots of great plugins available at www.kvraudio.com. If you're looking for a master limiter, I'd strongly suggest the Kjaerhus Audio Classic series. Excellent quality plugins for free. Then again, maybe its time to get a job. |

Hey man nuff respects for da tip but i have no idea on what type of plugin i need. I usually just download a pack/bundled and install then i go into em and mess around till i see what they do. As i said my Cubase only has da Pluggo which has about 100+ different plugins that i can mess with. Seeing that you know more about plug ins what type of plugin would i need in order to: acheive a clearer voice as in da beat does not over throw da vocals. PS-dat site you recommended is a bit tricky how do i get to da download page or am i already there?

Start simple... figure out what things do, don't just go in blind. For vocals, a good place to start is a compressor that evens out the volume of your lines and EQ that alters the frequency content to make it clearer. So to get you started, go to this page - http://www.kjaerhusaudio.com/classic-series.php Download and install the .dll's into your VST folder for - Classic Compressor, Classic EQ and get Classic Master Limiter, Classic Reverb and Classic Chorus while you're there. If your voice needs thickening, use the chorus. Put the Master Limiter across the master fader to make sure your output doesn't clip. I use the Master Limiter on channels too as a real easy, one knob compressor. |

Well i guess you cud say its not enuff bass but then again when there's a good bass da vocals are hard to hear maybe i need to change my hardware which is actually just a plain mic, and an old (looks like about 1985ish) Sony casette deck that i plug into da computer via "line in" port it actually boost da voice a bit but i know it can be better. I'm 19 been rappin since 13,but i used 2 recorded song ova ringtones using a phone and a cassete recorder (da ones used by reporters) and even those songs give me beta quality. I need serious help..

You just need to get more experience and really figure out what you are doing. |

Yeah i think thats da main thing, experince. See i'm like this i tend to make mistakes then learn from em. All in all i guess its cuz i ain't got that much of a supportive audience around me, when i'm "putting 2gether da final products" (including songs recorded by my whole crew), when i get stuck or frustrated i give up and don't try fixing da problem until a couple weeks when i'm probably bored. I have a lot to learn but its sure gonna take time.

If you don't record for weeks at a time, you aren't THAT serious. That's okay, but the robo star type people hard a sickening level of work ethic. You've got to put in the time if you really want this. If you just want to play around, that's cool, too. Just don't tell the world you are the next big thing if you are sleeping on the couch.
