Installed Tascam US-122L - now MP3's play back 1/2 speed

I installed a Tascam US-122L on my laptop in the last couple of days. I had previously been using a Line6 TonePort KB-37 as my audio interface.

I had Sonar 6, and PowerTracks ProAudio 12 installed, but neither of them seemed to "like" the US-122L. I got dropouts and other strange stuff.

So, I went ahead and installed Cubase LE4, which seems to be pretty stable, although I still have some issues to work out mostly because I'm not familiar with the program.

BUT! Now when I play back MP3's (using either MediaMonkey or Windows Media Player) they play back at 1/2 speed!

I know I've gone from 16bit to 24bit audio on the interface, but I would think that all of that translation would already be done by the time the MP3 audio stream hits the outputs.

Anybody have any ideas?

Check the sample rate setting in your audio interface's control panel while a song is playing. Is it at 44.1 KHz?

Yeah, this sounds like a sample rate issue.

Actually, I restarted and it seemed to resolve itself. Odd, since I'd probably restarted 10 times trying to get the darned thing working.

Anyway, sounds perfect now, and Cubase even seems to like it. Got my Pod XT Live and my Variax working and I'm a happy dude.

I have had no luck interfacing Tascam - 122L with PowerTracks Pro Audio 12
Has anyone out there found some obscure driver to make them work together?
