I need help! I have Realtek HD Soundcard,Soundcraft Compact 10 mixer and Asio4all driver.I connected my guitar via mixer. When I set Asio4All driver in Device menu it doesnt make any sound and monitor won't react. And when i set to Asio Multimedia driver monitor is bugging. Why is this happening and can you help me? |

How exactly is the soundcraft connected to the computer? Is it through the Realtek soundcard? I'm assuming that that is the soundcard that came with the computer, in which case you surely have drivers for it installed on your system - you shouldn't need the ASIO4all, surely... Or maybe you need it for Nuendo to work, I guess... If the monitor is bugging (do you means pops and clicks etc?) then just set the latency a little bit higher and you should be OK.

| ASIO4ALL - FAQ It would seem asio4all has not been properly or completely set up with your sound device. I would check at that site and in their forum. I've not used asio4all before, but it seems like a solution that is working for many. Nuendo 3 works fine with properly written, set up, and installed ASIO drivers. Nuendo 3 will also work with DirectX - WDM drivers that came with your sound card. The latency is horrible due to DirectX, and the general usage is not nearly as nice as with ASIO. Mixer is conected via unbalanced cables to my Realtek soundcard. And yes this is soundcard that came with my PC.When I mean my monitor is bugging I mean it produces some screamy sounds like sound bugging or it's like repeating explosion over and over again. Please see if you can help me because I need to know do I need to buy new soundcard...?

I suggest that you should go to the asio4all site and verify your set up and possibly post a question or two there. That is the site put up by the guy that wrote the software. He should certainly know what is going on, and there are probably others that would know what is going on. There is going to be a high concentration of experience with asio4all in that forum. I don't know about the level of experience with that driver in this forum. Again, I've not used it. This is likely to be a driver set up and usage issue. In conjunction with the driver, you also have several modes of monitor operation with Nuendo that should be reviewed but this should not be the issue itself here. You should be aware though that this may affect the driver setup and usage itself. I generally use tape machine style or manual, because I avoid monitoring audio THROUGH Nuendo and the computer. There will always be some latency when monitoring through the computer even though it can be made to be very low with high quality drivers and hardware. I use an external mix desk to mix the output from Nuendo along with whatever I am recording in order to produce a monitor/headphone mix while taking the output of the channel directly to the computer for recording. If asio4all is reporting its latencies correctly to Nuendo, the recorded track will end up in the correct time relation to the recorded tracks already there and you will not be suffering from delays and latency issues when tracking. You could have 2 second latencies with the method I'm using and it will not matter. If you are using VSTi however, that is another story. You will have playback latencies involved that cannot be avoided and these must be minimized. It is also possible that you could have outputs tied back into inputs through your recording desk, via the computer and Nuendo when Nuendo is put into monitor mode. Try using Nuendo like it was a record and playback system only, and do not monitor what you are recording through Nuendo. If for some reason you must monitor through Nuendo (must have effects or something), make sure you do not set up a feedback loop by redirecting output from Nuendo (the computer) back into the computer.
