hey! newbie with a Question

hi! I play guitar sing and write songs- ive done alot of recording in a band but someone else did all the tech stuff! So i rate as a newbie really I guess. Now im just gettin a simple set up together soi can record guitar and vox at home but i hav already hit a prob. I cant get playback through my head phones only through the PC which means I cant record xtra vocs etc without the mic picking up the playback. Does any 1 know what I need to do?!! I have a behringer xenyx 802 mixer pluggedinto an edirol usb audio interface. Any advice greatfully recieved

Are you monitoring through your recording software or using some kind of direct monitoring feature on the audio interface?

hi, I'm not really sure to be honest. I am just using the basic software "audacity" to get things started I think i'm monitoring through that. Sorry if thats not much use..

Okay. Let me help you. Can you adjust the level of your vocals (in your headphones) in the recording software while you are recording?
