I'm new to this forum and a novice at recording. Any help or suggestions would be appreciated. I own an Edirol UA-25, and have succesfully recorded my digitial piano by connecting the piano audio out to the Edirol's mic inputs on front. Recently I purchased a pair of AT 4040 mics to record an acoustic piano, but when I plugged them into the Edirol it didn't pick up the sound. The cable is XLR on the mic side, and 1/4" plug on the Edirol side. I have set the "phantom power" switch on the Edirol to on and restarted the computer. Is this supposed to work or do I need to get separate pre-amps for the mics ? Am I supposed to use a different cable (XLR on both ends) ? |
