Default Guitar interface question

Hello all;

Please be patient as I am completely new to home recording.

Here's my situation: I want to record ONE guitar track; I have Steinberg Nuendo installed on my computer, and want to drive the guitar w/ a POD PRO.

I just purchased a Behringer U-Control UCA202 audio interface; I thought the unit had 1/4 " input/output, but it has RCA in/out instead. If I get an 1/4"-to-RCA adaptor, will it work for this application?

Thanks in advance for any help.

Yes, that should work fine. Either way, phono or RCS, you have an unbalanced connection, but that's not an issue with guitars and most other line level signals. That's probably your cheapest alternative. Hope that helps. All the best, gelon

Firstly hello and welcome to the forums. The UCA202 should have a stereo out and an SPDIF out in addition to 2 RCA ins and 2 RCA outs.
Although it does not come with any installation drivers I recommend downloading the ASIO drivers here: BEHRINGER: U-Control Downloads . The UCA202 works better with these drivers and you'll have very few latency issues too.
For your guitar to work through the UCA202 you will need to purchase an RCA to stereo conversion cable but it definitely does work as Ive done it a million times and still do when Im at home and want a quick jam session.
Obviously this is not the most ideal setup but it will do you well. Also be sure to choose the correct drivers in the settings of your software.
good luck!

ps Its also interesting to note that Behringer make an interface specifically for guitars called BEHRINGER: UCG102

Thanks guys- I really appreciate the responses. I'm going to try this setup but I must admit the Behringer interface Fortyseven mentioned sounds very intriguing...
