Default a fresh start to my home setup..... and a BIG-->?

hey all, first real post here. i hang at N-track forums and coupla others...hope all yall are crankin....

cutting to the chase, i got Vista with a new PC i had to have. I had an outdated corporate copy copy of XP on an old PC that was pretty dead.

ok, jumping ahead, there is no going back to XP for now. i got all my moolah invested in my new rig. which of course screws me on my Audiophile 24/96 card since M-audio has not (or will they ever?) made drivers for Vista.

jumping ahead again, i was reading another article here about the signal path of the analog/digital signal. I have had my M-audio card for 5 years and never really did any serious recordings with it. (i just now am starting to figure out PC recording)

So in this article it mentioned a breakout box with the soundcard which i didn't have with my 24/96 card. i need that breakout box i believe to make life simple. i have one of thos Berringer analog mixers that's got me challenged.

basically my BIG question is, what good soundcard/breakout box would be a good buy and an easier solution for me? hopefully in the $250 to $350 range?

of course i will use it with my N-track.(already paid for)

Thx and am open to all suggestions. and LINKS even better!!!
