Default Firepod input issues

I'm running my firepod into my dell xps laptop. I've tried using cubase and reaper. My problem is that i can only use 2 inputs at a time. i can change the settings and use a different set of inputs, but only 2 simultaniously. i'm needing to record my band soon and have no idea what my problem is. any help woud be thankful.

Im not gonna say, what every body thinks Im gonna say...

Im not gonna do it...

I want to though...

It might be something with the firepod itself... Or maybe your laptop is restricting you from using more than 2 inputs, considering its a dell xps you should have enough ram, but list your system specs.

Cubase LE? Im not sure about reaper but you might be limited to using more than a few inputs at a time..

Hope it helps...

Let me close this post before it slips...!!! Its hard to keep quiet about such a ****** product...

sorry bout takin so long to get back on this. i'm using cubase le. i have 4 gigs of ram, 220gb HD, and i'm running vista(which i hate). i'm pretty sure the firepod works fine, i hooked it up to a mac at school and it seemed ok. is ther any chance it could have something to do with the sound card? i now nothing about sound cards

The Firepod is the soundcard.

I'd make sure you've selected the correct drivers. What kind of latency are you getting? Crank it down to a 128 buffer size and see how it performs. If you can't go that low, you probably don't have the correct drivers installed.
