Default DVD Playback With EMU 1616 PCI

Hi,

I recently installed the EMU 1616 PCI and everthing works great except for playing DVDs. There's a constant static in the audio and the video is jumpy (don't know if that's a related issue). I've tried loading the factory preset for DVD playback in the EMU mixer software. I've also tried different DVD players (Nero Showtime and VLC Player). Any ideas?

Hmm. I can't imagine how this would be related to the audio interface directly. Hmm. What about cds? Do they sound okay?

Is your latency set to be very low (fast)? If so, it's possible that this could eat up CPU power that wouldn't be otherwised used by your stock soundcard.

Hi Brandon,

Thanks for the reply. CDs play fine but what I've done is set up an alternate OS on my computer for recording and configured it to use the EMU card. With my regular OS I use the factory card. Sounds easy but I was in computer hell for about 10 days trying to accomplish that task!

Best regards,
Dan

Ha! This like the Spartans tossing their young prince into a cage with a Lion. It sounds like you defeated the Lion!

In most cases, this computer stuff works the same way. In other words, once you know how, you are covered. You could probably redo exactly what you did in a matter of hours from here on out.
