Default Cubase-Toneport-Echo MIA problems

Hi all,

New here and with a technical question. I searched around on here for an answer to this and didn't fine one, so my apologies if this has been covered at some point.

I've just set up my desktop for recording, and I currently have it set up with the following hard/software in the following order

Instrument-->Line6 Toneport UX1-->analog out-->Echo MIA sound card --> Cubase.

My (powered) monitor speakers are in the line outs in the MIA sound card

Now here's my problem. I can't get signal to Cubase or sound to my speakers when I go through the MIA even though the sound works fine for my other applications (iTunes, games, system sounds).

I went through my Cubase instruction manual and identified the ASIO drivers for my MIA as the in and outputs and all the other settings that I read to be necessary for it to work.

Now, what currently IS working is if I bypass the MIA alltogether, set the Toneport drivers as default in Cubase and go from there.

So, my real question here is how do I get it all to run through the MIA and still use the Toneport. I ask because I use this computer for multiple things and I'd rather not have to unplug my monitor speakers from my soundcard and plug into the Toneport every time I want to record.

Thanks for any help you can send my way
Poobah

Go into Windows Device Manager and see if the MIA device and drivers are enabled and there are no conflicts.

Looking through the Toneport manual I don't see anything about using it offline as standalone so I'm not entirely sure that what you want to do is possible. I would drop an email to Line 6 customer support.

I'll try that out and see what I get. Thanks for the response.
Just to clarify, I wasn't using the Toneport offline as a standalone. I was simply bypassing my soundcard because I've not been able to get the signal to pass through to it.

I guess I can't understand this signal path...

Instrument-->Line6 Toneport UX1-->analog out-->Echo MIA sound card --> Cubase.

The LIne Six is USB right and can be used as an audio interface? So why bother with the soundcard?
