Default Cubase SX3 Stereo configuration

I have no idea why but when i record guitar through my alesis multimix 8 firewire mixer, stereo configuration only records the left side of what I am playing in cubase sx3. Im so confused and dont know what to do.. please help!

I'm assuming you are using just one track when recording guitar.

If so, the next time you create a new track in Cubase SX3, make sure you select "mono". From there, you can pan it wherever you want.

Stereo is working just fine according to your post.

If you select stereo, you have to give it a left and right signal. Since you are only giving it one side, the audio only plays back on one side.

Mono, however, only needs a single input. So, without any panning, the mono input is dead center (played back equally on both speakers). Of course, you can pan as desire and put that track on the far left, far right, or anywhere in between.
