Default Cubase Audio Mixdown Question

When I export my tracks to a file and select the option to have the file imported back into Cubase, the new imported track has been transposed down quite a bit. When I play the file with an mp3 player it's at the correct pitch. Has anyone else noticed this?

Almost certainly a sample frequency issue. Check that the sample rate of what you are exporting is the same as what you are working with in Cubase. If you go to Project > Project Set up, you can see what sample rate Cubase is working at. When you export using File > Export > Audio Mixdown, you'll also see the sample rate specified. Make sure they match. An MP3 player will probably do the conversion automatically, but Cubase will use the sample rate specified in your set up regardless.

Is the transposed track slowed down? If so, this sounds like a sample rate issue.

I'd make sure that your soundcard, recording sample rate, and the sample rate of your exported audio are all 44.1 Khz first.

When the exported track is played within Cubase does it work okay or does it's pitch sound shifted?

What about when the exported track is played through Windows Media Player?
