Hi all, just joined this is my 1st msg. Wondering if anyone has had any experience with USB audio interfaces - I'm lookin at one with 16 simultaneous inputs and that sounds like a lot for usb to handle (I know they're s'posed to be 80 mbps FASTER than FW but...)

16 simultaenous inputs isn't that big of deal for USB 2.0 or Firewire. My Presonus Firestudio can handle 26 simultaneous inputs with no trouble. Go for it! Brandon

Hi BrandonDrury,
Yep, it's usb 2.0 - thanks for the response, puts my mind at ease. I've had a hell of a time finding an answer to this question: sales guys were either cagey or just trying to tell me what they thought I wanted to hear, and as for write-ups & such on the web, well, you never know who is actually writing those (could be the manufacturer you're lookin to buy from). So, thanks v much for this site & forum |
