HELP! i am trying to set up my new tascam 122L on my iMac with an intel processor running osx 10.14.1, but i can't get it to record in garageband.... no matter what i do garage band only records using the built-in mic...AAAAHAHHAHAAAGGGGG!!!!! here's what i've done: -installled the latest driver from the tascam website and updated the firmware - Audio Midi Setup - Default Input : 'US 122L' - Properties For: 'US 122L'. The Audio Input: Source drop down menu only gives me an option for 'Input', no 'Line In' or 'Digital In' - In Garage band i create a 'New Basic Track' and start recording. it records using the built-in mic. in the track settings the 'Input' drop down menu only gives me options for 'Channel 1&2 Stereo', 'Channel 1 (Mono)', 'Channel 2 (Mono)' is there some other place i should be pointing either garageband or the system to the tascam 122L? i feel like i am close, but missing something thanks for any help!!!!!!! |

Garageband is really good in "auto pilot mode". In other words, if you don't know what they hell you are doing, it's easy to use it. It's easy to just select "piano". With Cubase, there are like 2 more steps involved in the process and this seams to cause problems for people who expect to have mastered their software on day one. (Good luck with that one!). I'd say that Cubase LE is exponentially better if you have any plans on expansion or need a more "modular" system with more options for plugins and VST instruments. With that said, I've heard some bands do some very cool things with Garageband. I'll stick with Cubase myself. Brandon |
