    Default Broken headphone hinge

I have ATH-M50 headphones on which the right hinge for some reason lets the phone swing out too much.

Precisely what I am referring to is the the hinge that allows the headphones to fold in and fold out like in this photo.

By swing out, I mean that when you put it on your head nothing stops the right phone from pushing out even further so that the phone isn't pressed against your head.

I don't have a tiny screwdriver handy yet but I just wanted to know what the usual suspects are for this kind of problem.

(Also, I am very disappointed in Audio-technica for making non-cheapo headphones have a malfunction like this.)

Alright, I found the problem, there's a tiny piece of plastic that goes along a groove that is supposed to stop the movement once it reaches the end of the groove and shocker of the century, the tiny piece of plastic broke off. Doesn't seem to matter anymore how much you pay, there's just so much plastic in places that plastic has no business in that nothing is built to last anymore.

Well whatever, enough philosophy, I'm going to have to figure out how to jam something in there to serve the same purpose.

I know it's the 90+% humidity talking but seriously, how damn much do you have to pay to get something that doesn't have negligence built into the design? I see that 180 isn't enough? Is 300 enough? 400? 1000? more? I mean, philosophically speaking, why do we put up with this? It's not beyond human understanding to make a headphone hinge that won't break. Why do we put up with negligently built products?
