| So. Problem. Alesis hasn't come up with any 64 bit drivers for my mixer/soundboard (Woe unto thee, Alesis!). Anyone running Alesis Multimix USB 2.0 on a 64 bit computer? I would be overjoyed if anyone could help me fix this! |

I am in the same situation. I just ordered a system based on the I7 processor and plan on running Windows 7 x64 version with 12 gigs of ram. From all my searching I see I am screwed when it comes to running my Alesis MultiMix 16 USB. With more and more music software supporting 64 bit operating systems, it amazes me that Alesis is so far behind. I will really be pissed if I can't use my new system the way I intended. Neil Quote:

My letter to Alesis: I own a MultiMix16 USB 2.0 and have just upgraded my computer to an I7 with 12 gigs of ram. I upgraded in order to take advantage of the new 64 bit music software that is hitting the market. It is unacceptable that Alesis has not made any headway in the availability of 64 bit drivers for its hardware as other music hardware manufactures have. Vista 64 and Windows7 provide us with so many rich opportunities and it is amazing that a mainstream manufacturer like Alesis is turning their heads. I have been using Alesis hardware since the late 80's, with a dusty Quadraverb and HR-16 to prove it. I now have a mixer that is useless until you make the needed drivers available. I know it involves time and money to stay on the cuttung edge, but that is what has brought Alesis a loyal following in the past. I hope to see a turnaround. It hase been well over a year since people have been voicing their need for these drivers and except for some responses that really question our intelligence, nothing has been don to remedy this situation. Please give this some serious thought. Neil Leder shrink57@comcast.net Quote:

Did you get any answer?

| No answer yet but I imagine it will be the same rhetoric that others have received about the cost and time involved in driver development.

Alesis Does Support 64 Bit XP and Vista as of now!!!!!!!!! Goto alesis.com and download the new driver. It works perfectly on my Vista 64 Bit machine. I have a 64 bit version of Cubase 5 installed and it's awesome. I have an Alesis Multimix Firewire16. Spread the word to any forums you know of. Thanks Jazzman |
