Default Adding tracks on CEP 2.1 or Adobe Audition??

I'm think about switching all my files over to Adobe Audition because there is only one thing that I really want that is not on CEP 2.1 and that is the ability to insert tracks. When I say insert track I mean the ability to be able to create a new track after another track which then moves all the other tracks down. Does Adobe Audition have this feature? Or is there a way to do this with CEP 2.1?

Audition has a Multitrack View which pretty much defines unlimited tracks by default. No need to insert a track because the placeholder is already available.

As far as I know, there is no ability to shift all the existing tracks down and have the current new track at the top. You could manually select all tracks and shift them down to new tracks, but I just add tracks sequentially downward myself.

I don't enjoy software (like Acid) where it wants me to insert a track each time I want to make a new recording. In Audition, I just click record on a new track and start playing.

For whatever it's worth, most recording programs allow you mess with template so you can start with 0 tracks or 20 tracks. I personally like to start with zero in most cases because I never really know where I'm going to fire up. If I know I'm going to program something with acoustic drum samples, I fire up my template for that which automatically loads DFH Superior, String bass samples, etc. If I'm making more "techno" type of stuff, I have a template for that one too.
