Acoustic Taylor 110 recorded with a Shure SM57 pointed 45 degrees downward around the 12th fret and about 12 inches away from fretboard.
I added a slight amount of reverb and a graphic equalizer entitled "increase attack." What other types of EQ settings sould i apply to this in order to make it sound better. This is an acoustic and vocal only song by the way. I might add bass in later. |

Sounds good. Its a little boomy but you may want that if you are not going to add drums or bass. Somewhere from 160hz to 250hz (use a pretty narrow Q) could be pulled out a little, other than that nice work.

Cutting all frequencies below 80hz is usually a good idea, and adding a bit of sparkle at about 7khz is often a good start. I don't think a dynamic mic like an sm57 is a good choice for acoustic guitar recording though. There is a good article on recording acoustic guitar at
http://www.koretzmusic.com/rocksure2.html#tip2 and tip#3 is about mixing EQing the guitar Hope you find a bit of helpful information there. |

It's not in perfect tune. This would make a difference.
There is no way that I can give any other advice without hearing all the tracks in the song. Brandon
