Is the beat pre-made as in are you - as we say in the Caribbean - "riding a riddim"?

If so, then your application may be matchin the vocals' bpm to the beats' bpm.

That could be it. What sample rate are you recording at? Any chance that got changed?

The really cool thing about Acid is that you can change the tempo of the overall project and all the files automatically adjust to fit. However, when you have a file that is quite long and is seen as a "one shot' and not a "loop", then that file needs to be "beatmapped". In English that just means that you are adjusting the tempo manually. Run the beatmapper wizard and be sure to check the "maintain pitch even when temp changes" checkbox at the end. This should stop you sounding like Alvin in his furry friends!

yes the beat was made by me, but everytime i tried to mix my vocals with my beats the vocals would be much faster than the beat- i wasnt even recording, just at the initial mix, but see ive never even read an acid manual, so i never really knew how to match the bpm.. "fortyseven" has just helped me a great deal. im going to make the time to study my gear though... thanks for the input everyone.
