Hay just installed a M-audio 1010LT in my puter. Had a cheapy off brand sound card before the 1010LT. Wow what a difference, so much smoother. Just using the line ins on it and the digital out, may give the mic pre's that it has a try later on, but for now, just got to say wow. I know its still low end compared to a lot of your rigs, so I know there may be stuff I am missing. For now this is going to work wonders for us, glad I got it, over the audiophile 2496, as I have room to grow with.

Oh, and the XLR ins can be set for pres or line ins, but wouldn't you know it, they put the jumpers to change that on the card itself so you have to yank the card to change over to line level. Heck I would have paid another $25 if they could have done that in software. shrug

I agree. The standard 1010s are going pretty cheap now. If you can afford it, I'd get it. Brandon |
