Hi folks - I'm kinda a newb with recording. My set up is: Ableton Live Lite 7 Line 6 edition Pod Studio UX2 Pod Farm software AT2020 condenser microphone I've recorded a few songs with the above setup without any issues. But, all of a sudden, when I try to record a vocal track using the 3/4 input (mic) selection on an audio track, it is only showing the right channel input coming through to Ableton. (and records only the right channel) When looking at the level indicators in the Pod Farm software (which runs simultaneously with Ableton), it's showing left and right channel input on the mic. So, I'm thinking the Ableton software either has a problem, or, I'm missing a setting somewhere. I'm not too worried about getting an actual "stereo" signal, but having a dead left channel is problematic. Any thoughts? Thanks! Matt |

In the I/O part of the arrangement view on the far right, there is box which should read: II 1/2 Click on this box and a menu will appear: II 1/2 II 3/4 I 1 I 2 I 3 I 4 You need to click on 3 or 4 so the signal is routed to both sides of the stereo field. If you don't see 3 and 4, go to configure and enable 3/4 mono.

Hey thanks for the reply Cailyn! I studied this some more and figured out where the problem was. In the Pod Farm software, under the Mixer tab, the Rec Send UX2 1-2 and Rec Send UX2 3-4 settings had changed between recordings somehow. 1-2 was set to "Mix (Tone 1 and Tone 2)" and 3-4 was set to "Dry Inputs". Not sure what "Dry Inputs" are, but when I changed "Mix" on 1-2 to "Tone 1" (guitar input in this case) and "Dry Inputs" on 3-4 to "Tone 2" (mic input in this case), it solved the problem. The Dry Inputs was only passing the right channel on the mic through to Ableton. I had never played with the settings on the Mixer tab in Pod Farm before, so did not think to look there. Thanks for the help! |
