Ableton Live 7/M-Audio Axiom

I working on creating beats with Ableton Live andI have been reading that using the Axiom via usb increases latency. It would be better using the midi I/O and an AC adapter. I have one on the way and would like to ask what are my best connection options. My audio interface is a Pod Studio UX2 which has a left and right line inputs 1/4.

Have you tried it and had a problem with latency? I use my Axiom via USB as a midi controller and I have had no problems with latency. You need to set up your Axiom as a midi controller, have the proper drivers installed, and use a USB2 port.

ASIO !!!! Are you using asio drivers for your interface ?

Yes I am using the ASIO drivers I've got it figured out so far with no problems but never say never. Thanks for your reply. Do you have an Axiom and what software to use with it besides Ableton?

Not much....a couple of VST but I mainly use ableton itself. How much latency do you have in total ? I got around 6ms wioth the minimum buffer settings in ableton so, I can't feel it when I play on the axiom....

I'm using Ableton and Reason Adapted when I record with RiffWorks through Rewire. I don't know exactly what you mean 6ms(milli seconds?), but to my ears I really don't hear any latency I press a key and I can hear it right out of my KRK RP5 monitors instantly. I am using a Line 6 UX2 as my interface which have the audio outs for my monitors. What are you using for an interface and where do you adjust you buffer value?
