Any idea how I can make my external soundcard (Focusrite Saffire LE running Abelton Live Lite 7) the default player for EVERYTHING.

At this stage I can only get iTunes and You Tube etc... to play through the IN BUILT COMPUTER SPEAKERS.

All Abelton files run through the soundcard and the Studio Monitors just fine.

My guess--and it's only a guess--is that you can't. Generally, Live is set up to run best using ASIO drivers which are generally not compatible with onboard sound programs. You can set Ableton to run with the native drivers but I strongly advise against it since you will have new problems with latency.

Mmm... that sucks. - But! I've done it before - on my old computer (just bought a new one).

That said - on the old one, it was very unpredictable - iTunes would play through Monitors after boot up sometime and NOt some other times!

It depends on your setup, but I've done this many times. (I'm not an Ableton user, however). From my perspective, the audio interface actually works with Windows and not exactly Ableton / Cubase / whatever. So as long as you have the audio interface installed correctly and set as your default in Windows Control Panels > Sound and Audio you should be in business.
